7 Ups And 10 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 28)
Did WWE end 2015 with a bang or a whimper?
That whimper you heard Monday night was WWEs last episode of Raw for the year as the company closed out a disappointing 2015 with a lackluster performance from the roster. Well, actually it was about half the roster, as WWE ran a simultaneous house show Monday night, so stars like Dolph Ziggler, the Wyatt Family, Dudley Boyz, Paige and Charlotte were unavailable for Raw. Still, with John Cena returning and Vince McMahon coming back after being assaulted by Roman Reigns, it felt like WWE could have been trying to end 2015 on a high note and then Raw happened. The matches mostly didnt click, the angles largely fell flat, and fans in a usually hot locale like Brooklyn was left chanting, This is boring! and doing the wave. Thats never a good sign. WWE managed to turn the Brooklyn faithful against Sasha Banks just four months after she and Bayley stole the show at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn and it wasnt the good kind of turn. Fans could almost be heard wincing when she spoke. John Cenas big return was pushed off until the main event, where he talked his way into a title match where he didnt with the championship and then faded into the background. But hey, Mr. McMahon got more closely acquainted with New Yorks finest, so it had to be a good episode, right? Then again, maybe its the writers who should have been arrested. So what came in like a lion and went out like a lamb? Lets get to it
