7 Ups And 10 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 28)

7. Bait-And-Switch-And-Bait

WWE dragged fans along on a weird journey Monday night that really didn€™t pan out. Last week, they announced the return of John Cena to Raw this week, and he would face the man who beat him for the United States Championship. The announcers never said it was for the U.S. title, so you had to assume it was a non-title match. And that€™s exactly what it was, until Cena (smartly) tried to goad Alberto Del Rio into putting the title on the line€ which he eventually did. Then the League of Nations interfered (while the ref was knocked out) on Del Rio€™s behalf, to no avail. But then the League caused a DQ to save Del Rio€™s title, nullifying the story of Cena coming back to win his title back. The League proceeded to take out Cena, leaving him lying on the floor as the Usos and Roman Reigns came down for the save. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kfMnpumw9k Cena was never seen or heard from again as the focus (rightly) turned to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match. It just felt€ wrong that Cena€™s big return was announced, then a hook of a title match was added at the last minute, only for it to end in DQ anyway and then fade into Reigns€™ angle. It just felt weird how things played out.
