7 Ups And 10 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 3)

1. Bait And Switch… Again

For the third week in a row, WWE teased or promised a Brock Lesnar Money in the Bank cash-in, only to deny fans.

This latest one came after ratings fell to their fourth-lowest ever and was promised by Paul Heyman after Stephanie McMahon threatened to take action due to Brock’s disrespect to the company and the title scene. It was a truly weird situation surrounding everything, but the solution was to promise something repeatedly leading up to and throughout Raw, only to pull the rug out from under fans and make them wait until Super Showdown… maybe.

Maybe someone should read “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” to the writers. While pretending to cash in the briefcase is a normal function of the Money in the Bank contract, the rules are a little different when it comes to Lesnar. Promising a “major attraction” like Brock is going to wrestle on Raw (considering he last competed on the show in 2002) and then psyching fans out is not smart.

But hey, Vince McMahon wants to pay Brock a ton of money to show up on Raw, so Lesnar can just keep showing up and cashing those checks.
