7 Ups And 10 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 3)

DOWNS…

10. Luchas Stave Off Lars

Raw Lars Sullivan

Consider this a no-win scenario for Lucha House Party and for WWE.

The company clearly is all-in for Lars Sullivan and want to get him over as a monster heel. That means obliterating smaller, hapless faces like Kalisto, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik. Unfortunately for the trio, this also means beating them at the same time.

WWE also doesn’t want Lars to show any weakness right now, especially to the three smaller luchadors. But that conflicts with the company’s pre-programmed need to build a feud in advance of a PPV. So with a 3-on-1 handicap match booked, they had Lucha House Party dropkick Sullivan out of the ring – and that was it.

We know Lars is going to destroy all three opponents on Friday, but WWE feels the need to make us think there’s something resembling a prayer through this segment. They’d have been better off leaving them off the show or avoiding the confrontation.
