KofiMania will not be deterred, but that also means that anything or anyone in its path will get trampled.

So when Vince McMahon played bait-and-switch with Kofi Kingston and made a triple threat match for the WWE Championship – but didn’t include Kofi – whomever came out was going to be jeered.

That poor shmuck? Mustafa Ali.

Ali was booed throughout the match, as fans constantly chanted for Kofi, even during Mustafa’s comebacks against Daniel Bryan. It looked like he might win over the fans as they rallied behind him after kicking out of a pinfall, but the crowd immediately turned back to chanting for Kingston.

This should have surprised no one, as everyone remembers the reaction whenever Daniel Bryan was screwed over in 2014. Ali had a tough hill to climb, and it really didn’t do him a lot of favors. He should be more than fine, but it still felt bad seeing him come out and have to endure the “We want Kofi!” chants because of who he wasn’t.
