7 Ups And 10 Downs From WWE Royal Rumble 2017

5. Reigns As Superman

A frogsplash through a table. Brass knuckles. Chairshots. A Stone Cold Stunner.

None of that could put Roman Reigns down for the count. He kept kicking out and coming back, when any of those individual moves would have won a normal match. Finally, it took Braun Strowman to come down and demolish Reigns as payback for two previous spears to end Roman’s night.

Look, heroes have to put in a superhuman effort every now and again. And kicking out of almost any one of those moves is understandable in a big match. But when Reigns kicked out of a Stunner in Texas, then it just got silly. Maybe if the fans were buying it, but the reaction was more of a, “Is he seriously kicking out?” as opposed to excitement.

That’s to say nothing about what happened later.
