7 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's NXT (Aug 26)

6. Breezy Does It

Breezango Champions

I'll be honest here, hearing Breezango's music hit immediately after Kross had relinquished the Championship got a firm "ugh, not now lads" from me. Tonally their entrance felt catastrophically at odds with the opening of the show, stripping all the emotional weight from the segment.

But that's a small gripe compared to the quality of what followed. A Tag Team Championship match that should have found a home at TakeOver XXX, "relegated" to this week's TV, but nonetheless PPV-quality in its execution. Such is the strength of their gimmick that sometimes you need a reminder that both Fandango and Breeze are fantastic wrestlers and, well, here it was.

Credit also to the way this match was laid out, as it had all the trappings of a narrow defeat for the faces, with some chicanery at the finish undoing all of their good work. But no! These lads can absolutely go! And they battered Imperium in a frantic finish to with the gold as clean as you like. A thorough reward for the improved performances both have been putting in under difficult circumstances.

And by "difficult circumstances" I mean both the catastrophic worldwide public health disaster, and just NXT's attempts at having a tag division.
