Our main-even mixed tag-team match between the reigning NXT Women's and North American Champions and their upcoming opponents was about as by-the-numbers a go-home match as you're likely to see. As soon as anyone got a bit of momentum, the momentum was broken up by the other team, and we're heading into Sunday with nobody really getting their hands on their opponent too much.

The Gargano's new gimmick of just being a pair of dorks who, now that they cheat a lot, manage to pick up big wins, is pretty entertaining. But so too was the power-game from Priest and the innovation from Shirai. As a pairing, both teams did an excellent job of showcasing their respective strengths, and...

I'm sorry, I just can't. I can't earnestly breakdown this match for you when one thought hasn't left my mind since watching it. I don't want to see Io Shirai vs Candice LeRae or Johnny Gargano vs Damien Priest at TakeOver 31... I want to see Johnny Gargano vs Io Shirai.

There's just... there's a match there isn't there? You'd genuinely buy that she could belt him across a ring and you'd genuinely buy that he'd take the match assuming she couldn't. They were at each other this whole match, and Shirai would genuinely have had him beat with the moonsault if the ref had been allowed to count it. Give it to me, and give it to me soon.
