7 Ups And 3 Downs For NXT TakeOver XXV

6. Video Packages Continue To Shine

No matter how bad the writing is across the main roster, one thing you can almost always count on is that the video packages will be strong. The same applies to NXT's video production unit.

Three videos really stood out at TakeOver XXV: the opening recap of all the previous TakeOvers, Velveteen Dream’s send-up of Tyler Breeze’s failed run on the main roster, and the NXT Championship match between Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole.

The rundown of the previous 24 TakeOvers made you realize how far the brand has come in just five years. From hosting “special events” at Full Sail to selling out arenas, now they’ve got the formula down pat where you can almost guarantee TakeOver will be at worst enjoyable, at best an instant classic.

These videos do a great job of tying rivalries up with a bow for fans who don’t catch NXT TV each week, and when done well, they can make even a basic feud look heated. It’s good to know this hasn’t fallen off.
