7 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Feb 10)

2. Cameron Can't Even Hit A Clothesline

Cameron used to be one of the stars on Total Divas but when she realised her current skill level wasn't going to get her featured on RAW and SmackDown, she came back down to train in NXT. This week she competed in her first NXT TV singles match since November, so I was hopeful maybe she'd show some improvements and bust out some new moves. Alexa Bliss is a great opponent for the former Funkadactyl, because Bliss has been getting better and better for the last few months, which culminated in her working with Asuka on most of the UK tour in December. About a minute or so into this match, Cameron goes for a clothesline, but it doesn't connect at all because she doesn't extend her arm out to hit it, she just sort of expects Alexa Bliss to do all the work. It felt awkward and got immediate boos from the knowing audience. Cameron did have a little more fire under her belly than usual in this match, and some of her offence was OK but if she wants to succeed in the women's division in NXT, not to mention go back to the main roster, she has such a long way to go, and I don't know if it's possible. When Eva Marie has improved a lot more than you, that's a sign that you're in trouble. Cameron really needs to show significant improvement soon or WWE might be the ones to say "Girl, Bye".
