7 Ups And 3 Downs From NXT Stand And Deliver 2023

2. Miz And Theory Should Be Worried

If you’re Miz and Austin Theory, you should have watched NXT Stand and Deliver and gotten very nervous after seeing the unsanctioned match between Johnny Gargano and Grayson Waller.

The match was a brutal, hard-hitting match that saw both men batter each other with chairs, trashcans and kendo sticks and put each other through tables. Waller showed he was more than capable of keeping up with Gargano, who knew this type of match very well. They kept the thread of a coherent, but chaotic, brawl, which is something that reflects well on Grayson.

For WWE, they’ve got to look at Waller and see a guy whose shtick is similar to that of Miz and Theory’s, but far more engaging, deviously playful and cunning. He’s the jerk you actually find yourself enjoying rather than the other two on the main roster, who aren’t nearly as good, and aren’t as entertaining in the ring as well. (Watch Grayson’s entrance, which he live-streamed on Instagram, talking trash all the way to the ring, including berating Shawn Michaels at gorilla.)

At least for Miz, this is the guy who could easily come up onto the main roster and do the A-lister’s routine better than he can.
