7 Ups And 3 Downs From NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia

Downs...

3. No Nigel

War Games Percy Watson
WWE Network

TakeOver opened with a bad omen as Mauro Ranallo announced that broadcast colleague Nigel McGuinness was unable to call the PPV, leaving us with Percy Watson to serve as the sole color commentator.

It turned out that Watson did a serviceable job after months of subpar performances in the booth, but McGuinness’ presence was definitely missed. Nigel has become one of the better color commentators in WWE, and you knew Mauro and Percy were going to have to be on point to account for that missing man.

Thankfully, it all worked out, but still. (And for the record, when this is one of the few negative things you can say about a PPV, that should tell you something.)
