Holy crap, what a great match for the NXT Championship.

Tommaso Ciampa and Velveteen Dream had a barnburner of a match, hitting each other with everything they had while telling a sometimes fun story. Dream’s youth and Ciampa’s ruthlessness were front and center, but they also simply teed off on each other. Both hit finishers on each other; both kicked out. Ciampa tried to cheat, but ultimately, it was Dream’s over-enthusiasm in trying to hit an elbow drop to the apron that did him in.

The match solidified Ciampa’s standing as an incredible heel champion, while also showing that Velveteen is a star in the making. At 23, his day is coming soon, and it will be incredible when it does.

Bottom line: You have to check this match out and really appreciate it.
