7 Ups And 3 Downs From NXT TakeOver: WarGames

6. Locking It Down

Basic heel tactics are almost always awesome if done well, and Saturday, they were done well.

As the wrestlers were released from their respective cages to enter the WarGames ring, a referee repeatedly unlocked and relocked the cage doors. As Bobby Fish went to leave his cage as the last man for his team, he grabbed the padlock, went to the opposing cage and used a chain to padlock that door shut. It was a brilliant move to keep Pete Dunne out of the match and give Undisputed Era an(other) advantage.

Fish then went a step further and produced four steel chairs (helpfully labeled with UE’s logo). The foursome then beat on their three opponents, which continued until a referee finally found a set of bolt cutters to release Dunne to finally even the odds.

Still, for while it worked, it was a great villainous move.
