During the past six months, the tag team formerly known as The Mighty Don’t Kneel has been holding their own in NXT, competing sporadically on NXT television and achieving modest success.

But the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic provided the duo now known as TM-61 an opportunity to shine a little more. The tournament itself helped the group, as they won three matches to reach the finals, but Nick Miller and Shane Thorne got to shine a little in the TakeOver match in Toronto.

Despite losing to the undefeated Authors of Pain, Miller and Thorne unleashed some high-flying moves and displayed some perseverance. Thorne’s somersault dive off the scaffolding was breathtaking, and Miller tossing his larger opponents around before delivering a picture-perfect moonsault was a great moment as well.

You always want to see underdogs succeed, but TM-61 definitely had a different kind of victor Saturday night. Here’s hoping they get to show off their talents more in the coming weeks.
