There was one of two ways the father/son battle pitting Rey Mysterio against Dominik Mysterio could have gone: Rey puts his son in his place and stands up for himself and his family, or Dom’s new family helps him fully turn his back on his biological family.

It ended up that Rey would need to rely on some family of his own – the new Latino World Order – to overcome the Judgment Day and ultimately put Ex-Con Dom in his place. Rey at one point whipped Dominik with a belt, which was a very cathartic moment for him after weeks of abuse from his son.

To his credit, Dominik played his role perfectly, getting the upper hand and then verbally berating his mother and sister at ringside (and throwing a drink at his sister Aalyah), or mocking his dad and even Eddie Guerrero along the way. He paid for it though, with Angie slapping Dom and Rey unloading on him with his traditional high-flying offense.

Dominik very nearly picked up the win, but Rey managed to overcome with a last bit of help from Bad Bunny before vanquishing his son, making the 80,000 in attendance very happy to see Dominik get his comeuppance.
