7 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 24)

1. Bayley Bounces Back

It has been a while since Bayley gave fans something to legitimately cheer about. The former Raw Women’s Champion was obliterated in her feud with Alexa Bliss, and has done little of note since then. Fortunately, this week’s number one contender’s bout with Sasha Banks was tremendous, and a clear ‘Match Of The Night' winner.

These two have faced each other so many times that great chemistry is inevitable. They fought with fire, passion, and urgency, with ‘The Boss’ playing a subtle heel throughout, and Bayley showing great ring awareness to counter Sasha’s biggest moves. Banks lost in the end, falling to a cradle counter from her attempted Frog Splash, but they both tore it up, and if Sasha is to turn heel, this loss would be a nice catalyst.

The prospect of another Bayley vs. Bliss match shouldn’t fill anyone with joy, given the way the last one went. Still, put this contest in a bubble, and it was the best thing on Raw last night. Wins like this are exactly what Bayley needs to return to her former status, so here’s hoping there’s more of these in the pipeline.
