7. Gritty Gets Revenge On Miz

The Miz/Dexter Lumis story is trending toward spoiled milk (past its expiration date), but they managed to salvage it for one night by getting gritty.

Sorry, getting Gritty. That would be Gritty, the Philadelphia Flyers’ mascot, who has become something of a cult icon in the region (where this writer resides).

Miz encountered Gritty backstage several times, trying to give him a T-shirt, only for Miz to throw it down and stomp it. Miz finally tired of Gritty’s antics and slugged him down, only for Dexter Lumis to appear behind him (completely blowing up the expectation that he would be in the costume) and choke him out. This allowed Gritty to recover and lay in the boots to Miz before walking off with Dexter.

It was just good fun backstage with a popular mascot and made Miz look like more of a jerk than usual. At least he was a clear heel here.
