7 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE Raw Christmas Night (Dec 25)

4. Elias Steps Up To Cena

At this stage in their careers, Elias isn’t going to take down John Cena. It just isn’t going to happen.

But that doesn’t mean that an encounter between the two can’t have some value. Elias interrupted Cena to open Raw and tried to sing an original Christmas carol. It didn’t go too well, and Cena tried to help him along. When Elias turned it over to Cena to sing, the Drifter quickly knocked out the 16-time former world champ.

Elias then challenged Cena to a match, which was a fairly balanced affair, but went down about how you’d expect: shoulder tackles, proto-bomb, Five-Knuckle Shuffle, Attitude Adjustment, goodnight Irene.

Still, the notable thing here is that Elias looked OK sparring with Cena for the most part, despite the match itself being fairly dull.
