7 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 30)

2. Stripping Down Liv For THAT?

(Full disclosure: There was an “up” written about Liv Morgan’s vignettes and how it seemed to do a nice job resetting the character from jobber in a jobber squad. And then the end of Raw happened.)

So after weeks of deconstructing Liv Morgan from the pink-haired, blue-tongued juvenile delinquent, WWE reintroduced her by inserting Liv into the Lana/Bobby Lashley/Rusev storyline. But they didn’t just burn her return by making her a part of the wedding angle. They had her return as Lana’s apparent lesbian lover.

There are about 20 things you could ask about this: Was this during her marriage to Rusev? Is it (kayfabe) real, or in Liv’s head? Why did they make this the first lesbian storyline when you have Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose right there?

You can’t help but feel like WWE wanted some kind of Jerry Springer moment, grabbed Morgan and shoehorned her into that spot. They could have done anything else with Liv, but she’s now Lana’s fling… because this storyline needed to drag someone else down with it.
