Look, maybe, just maybe, things will get better for the Bray Wyatt/Matt Hardy feud, but right now, it looks like they’re on autopilot to cruise toward a WrestleMania match without enough content to get them there.

That’s why we’ve gotten weeks of them laughing at each other, or as we saw Monday, a simple attack after a match (in this case, Hardy laying out Wyatt with a Twist of Fate) with no commentary or promo afterward. It just helps stretch things out with nine weeks to go.

The entire “Woken” Matt Hardy debacle has become a perfect encapsulation of what happens when WWE doesn’t understand the fundamentals behind why something is popular. We saw them squander Zack Ryder’s fan-driven rise to stardom because he wasn’t the chosen superstar. We saw them misread Fandango’s theme song popularity.

And now we’re seeing them confused or incapable of replicating the success Hardy created with Broken universe. In addition, it looks like a once-promising feud between Hardy and Wyatt has sputtered out. Let’s just hope they can reignite things quickly.
