3. Reigns Lands Body Blow

In the war of words between John Cena and Roman Reigns, Monday’s promo from Roman Reigns was nowhere near a knockout blow, but it certainly kept the pressure applied to the 16-time former world champion.

Reigns used Cena’s own words from a February 2012 promo he cut on The Rock (calling him a part-timer, etc.) to call him a hypocrite. It was somewhat predictable, but effective. We of course got another fourth-wall cracking, with Roman referencing Alex Riley as an example of someone Cena buried.

The latest reality-based comments weren’t earth-shattering, compared to some of the earlier comments. But it was yet another moment that would heat up some people if it caught on. It kept the pressure on, and it reminded fans that Cena once bashed The Rock for “going Hollywood,” which is what Reigns is accusing Cena of doing now.

And No Mercy will take place right next to… Hollywood. Perfect.
