7 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 18)
4. Bliss Gets Hers
For the longest time, Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss has managed to avoid catastrophe, but she ran into a brick wall Monday night.
Bliss finally had to confront her “friend” Nia Jax in one-on-one competition, and running away didn’t work with Sasha Banks blocking her exit. With fleeing out of the question, Alexa soon fell to a Jax Samoan Drop for the pin. (Normally, pinning the champ clean would be a negative, but Nia needed to look dominant, and Bliss could stand to be knocked down a peg or two without losing much.)
And then, just when it couldn’t get worse, Bayley returned in her hometown to confront Jax. She teamed with Banks and Bliss to get rid of Nia, proving that Jax was vulnerable – if all three women on Sunday gang up on her. And just to connect things back to the champ, Sasha and Bayley interrupted Bliss’ attempts at sportsmanship to put her down, another nice touch.
