7 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Great Balls Of Fire

4. Bliss Bails On Title Match

Is WWE trying to book Alexa Bliss like the female version of the Honky Tonk Man, or is the company just trying to protect both her and Sasha Banks?

Bliss took a deliberate countout loss in her Raw Women’s Championship match against Banks Sunday night, losing the battle but retaining her title. This came after she tried to walk out earlier in the bout. And it isn’t the first time Alexa has taken a walk on a match on Raw. She walked out on her tag partners last month in a six-woman bout, and she got counted out in a match against Banks back in April.

Look, a champ taking a countout loss to preserve their title isn’t unheard of, and it’s not a bad strategy or storyline tool. But on PPV, when everything else seems to be humming along decently, this just felt cheap. It’s not a horrible thing, but in the scheme of things, it’s gonna get a down vote here.
