7 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Raw (30 Oct - Review & Results)
4. McIntyre’s Justification
For the past couple of months, Drew McIntyre has been on an odyssey.
The Scottish Warrior has gone from being the all-out hero who stands up for what’s right, to deciding that doing that hasn’t served him well and looking out for himself first.
Monday, McIntyre visited the Performance Center to relive one of the more indelible moments in his career, winning the WWE Championship in front of an empty PC at WrestleMania 36. Drew traced this supposed career-defining moment to Clash at the Castle, where the Bloodline thwarted his public redemption.
And that journey gave more heft to his challenge of Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel for the World Heavyweight Championship as he said that he needs this win, and that he will break Rollins’ back to capture the title.
It’s easy to see that the past few years have had a cumulative effect on McIntyre, and he’s going to hit his breaking point if he continues to be denied his moment. That is a smart way to weave years of stories that weren’t necessarily connected previously.
