Monday Night Raw has pretty much found the perfect formula for vanilla ice cream.

There’s nothing wrong with vanilla ice cream – hey, who doesn’t love ice cream? – but it isn’t chocolate, or cookies & cream, or… you get the point.

And that’s really what Raw in the no-audience era has become: vanilla ice cream. It’s perfectly acceptable, but without anything dressing it up (your hot fudge sauce, whipped cream and wet walnuts), it’s just a somewhat bland backdrop. Raw delivered some decent matches, some good promos and kept things moving pretty well Monday night, but there wasn’t anything memorable about it.

Months from now, will you remember anything from this week’s episode? Most likely not. But you also won’t be calling it the worst program you watched, nor will you regret plopping down and viewing it.

Much like vanilla ice cream, Raw is perfectly acceptable to many, and that’s perfectly fine. It’s tough to be much more than that right now. But it’s highly unlikely we’ll be looking back to this time in history a ton when they’re putting together the retrospective for the 30th anniversary of Raw in a few years.

With that said, let’s take a spin through what worked and what faltered. Let’s get to it…

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
