5. WWE Testing Out Ways To Fill The Silence

Last week’s Raw was eerily silent. It did not instill a lot of confidence that WWE was plowing ahead with WrestleMania, as the quiet runs completely counter to everything you know and love about Mania.

But Monday night, it looked like they were trying to employ different tactics to fill the void with noise. During the tag team match between Andrade & Angel Garza and Ricochet & Cedric Alexander, there was a fair amount of background noise: the wrestlers themselves kept chattering throughout the match (not calling spots, but talking trash and yelling encouragement to their partners), Zelina Vega kept yelling to her charges, and the Street Profits continued to talk from commentary during the bout.

The result was a match that felt “fuller” in terms of sound. There was no crowd, but the audio did not feel empty in the way it did last week.

Keep an eye on this going forward, as it might be something they do more of to keep things as close to “normal” as possible.
