7 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Roadblock

6. Canada Sucks

It€™s a difficult task to pit a Canadian crowd against a bona fide Canadian legend, but that€™s exactly what Chris Jericho did in a matter of minutes at Roadblock.

Having just turned heel a few days early, Jericho couldn€™t afford to walk out in Toronto and be cheered, but the fans immediately rushed to his side, chanting, €œY2J!€ as he entered the ring. Jericho quickly told them to shut their €œfilthy mouths,€ that the fans had their chance to cheer him for months but instead chanted for AJ Styles. He also called himself the greatest icon in Canadian wrestling €“ better than Bret Hart €“ and said he was ashamed to be Canadian.

Was it a bit extreme to go for every attack line he could think of against his home country? Maybe, but Y2J also had to make sure fans didn€™t cheer him five days after he turned heel. Calling Toronto the €œanus€ of Canada pretty much ensured that.
