7 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 13)

4. A Breath Of Fresh Air

If this is a test drive, then we’d like to see the option to buy.

Renee Young filled in for Jonathan Coachman Monday night in the broadcast booth, and it was an immediate and huge upgrade. Aside from Coach being annoying and aloof, with his “one word” for every hour and paint-by-numbers sports analogies, Young just sounded more authentic and real.

When Corey Graves, always the antagonist, accused Renee of being biased in favor of Roman Reigns, she didn’t deny being a homer. Even when they sparred, it felt a little more realistic. Maybe that was because Graves toned down his act a little, but it felt like people talking, not scripted nonsense.

Bottom line: WWE should keep Renee in the booth and see where this goes. She’s shown in NXT that she’s capable, and it’s past time to have a different perspective on commentary.
