7 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Jan 16)

2. Who Wrote That Crap?

If you’ve followed Sami Zayn during his time in NXT/WWE, then you probably were scratching your head during Raw Monday night.

During a backstage segment, Zayn was game-planning with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins for their six-man tag match against Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens and Braun Strowman. Zayn was manic, almost unhinged, as he railed about needing to isolate and stop Strowman. Sami rambled excitedly and tried to get Rollins and Reigns to throw in their fists, Shield-style, but the duo just walked off, calling Zayn crazier than Dean Ambrose.

Um, what?

Where in the blue hell did this persona come from? Zayn has never acted that crazy before, and it certainly didn’t do him any favors. Sure, he could be nervous and over-excited, but this was so ridiculously over-the-top that it had to be some over-zealous writer who thought he had struck comedy gold.

No, no he didn’t. Not even close.
