WWE will occasionally toss out segments where wrestlers come out in rapid succession and deliver a few lines, and then someone makes a big multi-man tag match to get all of them in the ring fighting. It’s often a very forced affair, but sometimes it can work.

Not so on Monday, when people came out to declare that they were entering the Royal Rumble, except for Titus O’Neil, who added that he locked in a 4-on-4 tag bout that had no rhyme or reason. Nothing was on the line, and nothing was gained through the segment.

Sure, there were a couple small moments that led to a smile, such as Rusev asking about being called “Handsome” Rusev, and the Big Show/Braun Strowman staredown, but aside from that, as there any way we could have skipped the tag match itself? Rusev, Jinder Mahal, Braun Strowman and Titus. Now that is quite a group.
