5. Terminate Movie Previews
Remember last week how WWE showed previews for Ted 2, eating up show time and raising questions about how the company associates with movies? WWE mustve decided it went so well that it would revisit its relationship with the Terminator franchise. If you recall WrestleMania XXXI, Triple H had a godawful entrance that utilized cyborgs and armor from Terminator Genisys. That movie is due out July 1, so naturally, WWE had to air a clip for the film during Raw not just a commercial, but another clip set up by the announcers. Thankfully, the clip was relatively short and we didnt have the T-100 later deliver the news of who Seth Rollins would face, but still. Theres never really a good time to show these clips. Everything just grinds to a halt, even if its 30 seconds long, and we have to reset on the other side of the clip to get back into the groove. In this case, the Terminator clip came after Machine Gun Kelly performed, so aside from Kevin Owens, it was two non-wrestling spots back-to-back. It just sucks all the oxygen out of the room.
