7 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 22)

2. Crews Is A Dud

Last week, we applauded Apollo Crews standing up for himself and trying to advance his station on the Raw roster, but we also cautioned that this might not be the start of a push and WWE could shoot themselves in the foot pretty quickly.

And then on Monday, that warning was proven correct, as Crews lost to Elias in a pretty pedestrian match. Even his comebacks played to silence. Maybe, maybe if Apollo had won with a couple impressive moves, it might have moved the needle a little, but losing again, after making noise about stepping up last week, just neutered him again.

At this point, Crews is pretty much shot on the main roster. Moving him to SmackDown won’t help. It would be better to send him down to NXT for six months to work out the kinks and get away from the bright lights. Maybe he can rebuild himself a little and generate some buzz, ala Tyson Kidd and Cesaro several years ago.
