Coming off the heels of a lackluster (and sometimes downright insulting) build-up, as well as yet another stellar NXT TakeOver, WWE delivered an uneven Money in the Bank PPV. The event produced some genuinely awesome moments, as well as some occasions where you wanted to turn your TV off or go into the next room and make a sandwich.

We got two MITB matches that were entertaining and eventful, as well as a Last Man Standing match that was everything it was billed to be. We saw Ronda Rousey’s PPV singles debut, and she rose to the occasion.

But we also saw wrestlers eating food out of trash bags, a near-invincible superstar frozen in confusion and defeated like a jobber, and a of couple matches where you just prayed for it to be over soon. As well, we saw two wrestlers fight in a match where fans were so disinterested that they could have offered free nachos on the concourse and the stands would have emptied out.

Still, Money in the Bank was overall a good PPV, if long. If they had scrubbed a few matches, it might have rivaled TakeOver the previous night. But alas, we’ll just give this one passing marks and advise you skip the first two bouts and the SmackDown Women’s Championship bout – unless you like yelling at the TV.
