You have to wonder what WWE’s mindset with Big Cass currently is, given how he has fared since his return from injury.

Cass showed up on SmackDown and picked a fight with the just-reinstated Daniel Bryan – one of the most popular wrestlers in WWE this century. It hasn’t gone well for him overall, and Sunday was the latest chapter in Cass getting owned by Bryan.

This isn’t a knock on the booking surrounding the feud. D-Bry is a former world champion and immensely popular wrestler. He shouldn’t be losing his first feud, period. But what does it say that WWE stuck Cass in this for his first feud back?

That’s two straight PPV losses for Cass to Bryan, which should end this rivalry decisively. So where does Cass go from here? It doesn’t help that the match itself was pretty pedestrian overall, with Bryan hitting his trademark spots – and not much else.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
