If you haven’t paid close attention, you might have missed it in recent weeks, but Drew McIntyre seems to be in the process of either a face turn or at least a turn away from being a pure heel.

Yes, last week McIntyre demolished No Way Jose and his conga line, but he had a bit of fun doing it. And then this week, he interrupted bickering between AJ Styles and Randy Orton, noting they were having an RKO measuring contest (“My Claymore’s bigger”), and then polling the crowd about whether they’d like to hear them continue to talk, or fight.

Playing to the crowd, rather than insulting them, isn’t super subtle, but his overall mannerisms put him more in the “tweener” category at this stage, as he also picked up the win in the triple threat by pinning Styles.

It’s an interesting development, but it remains to be seen if there’s any plans for McIntyre in the coming weeks.
