Raw on Monday night was a mix of nice little moments and pretty sizable letdowns. It was the kind of show where they billed it as an episode of championship matches, but it was one disappointing title match after another.

Even though the scorecard said it was more positive than negative, it’s hard to ignore that the title matches were disappointments. The in-ring action was average at best, and the programs set up for the next PPV were uninspired or average at best.

Dolph Ziggler, world title contender? In 2020? Ask Otis how big of a threat he is. The IIconics as women’s tag title challengers? Next. The conclusion to the Street Profits/Viking Raiders friendly rivalry? An average match that completely undersold what was built up. A “rejuvenated” Randy Orton’s next opponent? The semi-retired Big Show.

But we did get some good stuff from Asuka, the next chapter in the Rey Mysterio/Dominik/Seth Rollins saga, and a potential setup for the eventual fallout between Sasha Banks and Bayley.

Raw was certainly watchable, but when you spend weeks building up title matches that are lackluster, it really doesn’t reward you for your dedication, which is what really counts against it this week.

With that said, let’s get to it…
