This column has been a huge fan of almost anything New Day has done for the past year-plus. But the trio might be crossing a line that very quickly could become a jump over a shark.

Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have spent the past two weeks spurning the advances of Titus O’Neil, who has approached the trio about joining their group. He’s tried to make his case, only to be rebuffed and insulted in the process. This week, New Day brought back Titus’ stumble in the keg carry during the second season of NXT in 2010.

After embarrassing him, they made him carry it again to get into New Day. And when Titus dropped the keg early to celebrate (pulling a DeShawn Jackson), they mocked him even more. And then O’Neil lost to Kofi (with a little help with Xavier and Big E). Expect this to continue next week with Big E. And we don’t know if this will lead to Titus gaining admittance or just total humiliation.

It’s rough to watch New Day go from losing the tag titles three weeks ago to spending the bathroom segment rebuffing Titus O’Neil. Hopefully this will turn around soon.
