Conventional wisdom says that New Day should head to SmackDown now after running through the entire Raw tag team roster. There really isn’t much else for them to accomplish on the red brand.

So it was a perfect thing to have them compete in two hard-fought losses in a row to the debuting Revival the past two weeks. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder might be well-known to NXT fans, but they certainly needed to establish themselves more than just toppling Golden Truth and the Shining Stars. Beating New Day convincingly certainly helped their cause.

Monday’s victory involved a super Shatter Machine that nearly decapitated Xavier Woods, with Dash and Dawson catching him as he jumped off the turnbuckles. Just like that, the self-proclaimed “top guys” could make the case that they were indeed just that.
