7 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw
6. Ignoring The Beast In The Room
This is a tough one to count as a “down,” but it should be noted somewhere, and it certainly isn’t a positive thing.
WWE acknowledged that Brock Lesnar exists Monday night, and affirmed that he is scheduled to face Randy Orton at SummerSlam next month. This came just days after news broke that Lesnar might have violated UFC’s anti-doping rules and thus would face a lengthy suspension if it’s confirmed. If Brock were to receive, say, a two-year suspension from UFC, WWE would be hard-pressed to ignore than and allow him to compete without any punishment, especially with Roman Reigns sitting out a 30-day suspension.
Then again, Lesnar has never violated WWE’s wellness policy (Has he ever been tested though?), and he’s still innocent until proven otherwise, so you can’t expect WWE to remove Brock from his SummerSlam match. It just felt odd that he was name-dropped a few times during the broadcast with not even a hint of a problem.
There really wasn’t a good solution to this problem, but it’s going to linger as long as the issue itself remains unresolved.
