7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 14)
1. Survivor Series Confrontation
Let’s put aside the never-ending feud between Shane and Stephanie McMahon. The ongoing McMahon battle for supremacy is dull and old hat, but the in-ring confrontation between Team Raw and Team SmackDown was anything but dull.
Aside from the Chris Jericho list-making session with AJ Styles, his hair and James Ellsworth, we saw Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman standoff (with Randy Orton stepping in to confront Strowman), Kevin Owens and AJ Styles debating which “world” title was move valuable, and Seth Rollins declaring that he and Roman Reigns could be dominant if they’re on the same page.
The brawl was a little contrived, with Shane recovering quickly from a Braun beatdown to knock him out of the ring, and Raw driving SmackDown out of the ring, but it served its purpose, generating some interest in Sunday’s big match by showing some of the confrontations we could see at Survivor Series.
It would be better if this match carried more stakes than “brand supremacy,” but we can’t have everything we want.
