There’s something to be said about raising a question of whether forced-together partners can coexist. It’s a legit issue, and it increases the intrigue in the Survivor Series matches.

But when that’s literally all they have to bring to the table, it’s a very tired trope. Monday, we saw multiple matches made to play up the division among partners: Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns; Seth Rollins, Chris Jericho and Braun Strowman; Charlotte and Sasha Banks; Alicia Fox and Nia Jax; Enzo Amore & Big Cass and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. Even the Golden Truth/Shining Stars team was born out of conflict.

In each match, the question was raised repeatedly whether they could get along and how they would work together at Survivor Series. That’s just lazy, and very repetitive… and ultimately, boring.
