As much fun as the end segment between Team Raw and Team SmackDown was, we still had to endure yet another McMahon family rivalry segment.

Shane and Stephanie continued to bicker, closing out Raw by talking about how the other was a hypocrite and gloryhound, poor leader and other insults. It was your typical McMahon-a-Mania segment that saw the focus of the promotion fall squarely on the McMahon siblings and their desire to beat the other one. It’s a tired and unimaginative effort, one that should be retired but never will.

Seriously, it’s just so predictable to see the feud between brands be boiled down to sibling rivalry between spoiled rich kids. It doesn’t resonate with anyone – no one is running around saying they’re with Team Shane or anything like that – so why does WWE insist on running with it?

Oh, right. Because WWE.
