7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 5)

5. More Cruiserweights Announced

Give WWE credit for whetting fans’ appetites the right way for the relaunch of its cruiserweight division. The WWE Cruiserweight Championship died a very undignified death, so any positive development is extremely welcome.

We’ve already seen that guys like Cedric Alexander, Brian Kendrick, Rich Swann, TJ Perkins, Noam Dar, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa have been announced. Monday night, we learned that Gran Metalik, Jack Gallagher and Akira Tozawa also will be part of the new division. If you’ve watched the Cruiserweight Classic on the WWE Network each week, then you know that this is very quickly becoming an exciting, stacked division of stars.

Hopefully, WWE can follow up nicely by showcasing these wrestlers in a manner that does them and the CWC justice. Let’s pray that these guys aren’t lining up to become cannon fodder for Braun Strowman in three weeks.
