7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 21)

2. R-Harvey Screws Up

Honestly, if WWE hadn€™t done this, it would have counted as a major negative. If you saw the end of the Miss Universe pageant Sunday night (and it was impossible to miss if you were on social media at all Monday), you know that pageant host Steve Harvey messed up in the worst possible way, announcing the runner-up as the winner, leading to mass confusion and a mega-embarrassing moment. So with WWE€™s own awards show the next night, and the company€™s penchant for ripping off pop culture, it was only natural that this would happen. But being that it was only 24 hours old, WWE had the benefit of this being fresh and (potentially) funny. Thankfully, WWE turned to one of its better comic performers, R-Truth, to play the role of Harvey. Truth announced Paige as the winner of the Diva of the Year Slammy. The Anti-Diva came out, surprised she had won. But seconds into her acceptance speech, Truth said he made a mistake and that the real winner was Nikki Bella. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiLt-u4Nyfc Well played, WWE.

Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
