7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Feb 4)

1. The Man Waits For No One

Since she began her lightning-quick rise to superstardom last year, Becky Lynch has drawn comparisons to another anti-hero from the Attitude Era, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Regardless of what you think of that comparison, there is a parallel that exists.

And so it was natural for Becky to find her authority figure to rage against, and that person was Stephanie McMahon Monday night. Lynch came out, pre-empting McMahon’s intro, and things immediately deteriorated, with Becky refusing to submit to a doctor’s physical for her knee (mainly because she didn’t trust the system in which she views herself as a glitch), and Stephanie threatening to suspend her – and then following through.

That resulted in The Man losing it and slugging McMahon down and needing security to hold her back. It was an explosive opening to Raw and put her cult popularity on full display.
