7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 20th)

1. Divas Dominate

When WWE promoted three NXT women to the main roster last week, it put the Bella Twins and half the Divas locker room on notice. If Stephanie McMahon€™s speech about wanting to revolutionize the Divas division has any truth, you€™ve got to imagine that means some changes are coming. But to be fair, when it was announced that Charlotte was facing Brie Bella one-on-one, did anyone else think that Brie was going to get her win back from Battleground? With WWE€™s penchant for 50/50 booking, you can€™t blame fans for thinking that. Thankfully, Charlotte toppled Brie pretty quickly. Then, just to drive the point home, we got a tag team match between Naomi and Sasha Banks versus Paige and Becky Lynch. Right away, you could tell the difference, with crisp moves and more energy than we€™ve seen from women€™s tag matches. Naomi showed a fire she hasn€™t really had a chance to display, which could be an example of rising to the level of competition. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=954z6aUOkK4 And it€™s worth calling attention to Becky Lynch, who took a beating and had fans begging her to make the tag to Paige. When she was fingertips away, they groaned and gasped, then cheered like crazy when she made it. That€™s a good sign of keeping fans invested in the match.
