7 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 17)
3. Kofi’s Swagger
It’s debatable whether Kofi Kingston should have an extended reign as WWE Champion, but he’s definitely growing more confident on the mic and as a performer as this push has continued.
Kingston strutted out Monday night with Big E and Xavier Woods in tow to interrupt Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin. Kofi noted that as champ, he can go where he wants whenever he wants, so he didn’t care about the Wild Card Rule. (It’s OK, neither does WWE, apparently.)
He then ran amok on the heels in a six-man tag match later on, scoring the pinfall (after KO superkicked Corbin and walked out on the match) to stand tall with his teammates. It wasn’t a monumental segment, but it was an example of Kofi looking more confident, which is important if he’s going to continue to hold onto that title a little longer.
