When Candice LeRae and Io Shirai came up lame during a match breakdown and had to be helped to the back, this writer was prepping a negative comment, noting that it was a pretty lame way to “eliminate” two wrestlers and leave NXT at a huge disadvantage.

And then it all paid off at the end of the match.

Shirai and LeRae returned at the climax of the match, saving captain Rhea Ripley from Sasha Banks and helping her secure a win for Team NXT. Since they never were actually eliminated, they were able to return and help her out.

Thus, the NXT women won with three survivors, which is pretty damn impressive.
