7 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Survivor Series 2019

2. Secondary Title Triple Threat Is Top-Notch

You’d be forgiven if you thought the triple threat between three heels – AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura and Roderick Strong – would connect with the crowd, but you’d also be wrong.

After a short feeling-out process, the trio engaged in a solid bout, with Nakamura looking more motivated than he has in a good while. We saw some nice double teams on the third man, and each wrestler got plenty of time to shine. Strong hit his array of backbreakers and slams, Shinsuke kicked and kneed everything that moves, and AJ was, well, phenomenal.

The end result, with Styles hitting the Phenomenal Forearm and Strong stealing the pin on Nakamura, worked pretty well too. Even in defeat, Shin controlled large swaths of the match, and someone had to eat the pinfall.
